Westport Police say Patrizio Arciola turned himself in at police headquarters in connection with an active warrant for his arrest on Friday, Sept. 20 around 5 p.m.

Arciola was initially accused of engaging in inappropriate behavior with his child on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, when police say they received a report from his wife.

The report stated that Arciola asked the child if they wanted to put their hand on the stove and burn themselves, police say. She later stated that Arciola had been watching a pornographic video while lying on the couch with her and the child, according to police.

Additional reports from Arciola’s wife stated that she had allegedly found what she believed to be a firearm and illegal steroids, which were photographed and showed to investigating officers. The report stated that Arciola had asked her for cash to use to purchase Bitcoin currency, which he then intended to use to purchase steroids online, police say.

Based on these reports, police say they obtained a search warrant for Arciola’s residence. Prior to carrying out the warrant, police say a CO2 air pistol with a number of CO2 cartridges and pellets were turned over to their possession.

The execution of the search warrant resulted in the discovery of two boxes of syringes as well as large quantities of various types of pills and liquids of which are known as controlled narcotic substances commonly used as anabolic steroids, according to police.

Arciola faces the following charges:

  • Possession of a controlled narcotic substance
  • Sale of a controlled substance
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Risk of injury to a minor
  • Criminal possession of a firearm

Arciola was released after posting a $10,000 bond and was arraigned at Norwalk Superior Court on Monday, Sept. 23.
